DESCRIPTION:
Doxycycline is a semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic from the tetracycline group. In sensitive bacteria, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Doxycycline exhibits activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Bordetella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus species. Doxycycline is also effective against Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, and Rickettsia species. Due to its strong affinity for the lungs, doxycycline is particularly useful in treating bacterial respiratory infections.
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, such as Campylobacter, Pasteurella, and Mycoplasma. In sensitive bacteria, it disrupts protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. In poultry farming, tylosin is primarily used to treat respiratory diseases such as chronic respiratory disease (CRD) and infectious sinusitis caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae. It is also effective against certain gastrointestinal infections caused by bacteria like Clostridium perfringens, which can lead to necrotic enteritis.
INDICATIONS:
Capid TD is indicated for the treatment of respiratory and GIT infections in poultry (caused by bacteria sensitive to this combination) like Mycoplasmosis, Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD, CCRD), Infectious Coryza, Fowl Cholera and Fowl typhoid.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Poultry: For oral administration via drinking water. Dissolve 1-gram Capid TD in 2-4 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days OR as prescribed by poultry veterinarian.
WITHDRAWAL TIMES:
Poultry Meat: 7 days.
