B_COLIS TD-85

Composition

Each 1000 g contains:

  • Doxycycline HCl……………………………….200 g

  • Tylosin tartrate…………………………………100 g

  • Colistin sulphate………………………….500 MIU

  • Bromhexine HCl…………………………………5 g (As per Innovator’s Specification)

Description:

Doxycycline is a semi synthetic, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic from tetracycline group. In sensitive bacteria it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Doxycycline is active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Bordetella, Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. Doxycycline is also active against Chlamydia, Mycoplasma and Rickettsia spp. Doxycycline has a great affinity to the lungs and is therefore especially useful for treatment of bacterial respiratory infections.

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with a bacteriostatic action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, like Campylobacter, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Treponema spp. and Mycoplasma. In sensitive bacteria, it disrupts protein synthesis by binding to 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome.

Colistin sulphate is an antibiotic from polymyxin group with bactericidal action mainly against Gram-negative bacteria. Colistin exerts its action against susceptible bacteria by disruption of cytoplasmic membrane. Colistin is poorly absorbed after oral administration and excretion is exclusive through faeces.

Bromhexine is an effective expectorant. It increases the volume of bronchial secretions, modifies the production and viscosity of the mucus in the trachea-bronchial tree. It is used alone or in combination with antimicrobial for the treatment of respiratory diseases.

Indications

B-Colis TD 85 is indicated for the treatment of respiratory and gastro-intestinal tract infection in poultry (caused by bacteria sensitive to this combination) like:

  • Chronic respiratory disease (CRD)

  • Fowl typhoid

  • Infectious coryza

  • Fowl cholera
