Description:
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the pleuromutilin group and inhibit bacterial protein synthesis at ribosomal level. In poultry, orally administered tiamulin is well absorbed (reaches maximum conc. in about 2 hours) and widely distributed throughout the body. It has been shown to concentrate significantly in the liver, kidney, and lungs (up to 30 times to that in serum). Excretion is rapid, primarily via the bile and kidneys, and occurs mainly in the form of microbiologically inactive metabolites within 48 hours.
Indications:
In poultry, Eter Timu 45% is used for the prevention and treatment of chronic respiratory infections (CRD, CCRD) air sacculitis, infectious synovitis, caused by organism like: M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae, and other bacterial organism like ORT, and Brachyspira spp. (susceptible to tiamulin).
Advantages of using Eter Timu 45%
High lung concentration: High drug concentration in the lungs (up to 30 times as in serum), making it exceptionally effective for treating respiratory infections in poultry.
Rapid excretion: Rapid excretion, primarily through the bile and kidneys, reduces the risk of residues in meat and eggs when proper withdrawal periods are observed.
No cross-resistance: Tiamulin belongs to the pleuromutilin class and does not share cross-resistance with other common antibiotic classes.
Effective against resistant pathogens: Particularly valuable for controlling Mycoplasma and other pathogens that have developed resistance to commonly used antibiotics, such as Tylosin.
Safe for Egg-Laying Birds: At recommended doses, tiamulin is approved for use in egg-laying birds by international regulatory bodies like the FDA, NOAH and EU.
Dosage and Administration:
The dose is 25 mg tiamulin hydrogen fumarate/kg body weight (an equivalent of 5.5 g of Eter Timu 45% for 100 kg body weight) and administer for 3-5 consecutive days OR as prescribed by poultry veterinarian. Tiamulin should be administered at 0.025% in drinking water (approx. 0.556 g of the product per liter).

Precautions:
Store at room temperature (avoid extreme temperature). Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. After each use close bottle securely. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
This drug is not compatible with anticoccidial drugs like Narasin, Monensin, and Silinomycin.
