Description
Amprolium hydrochloride is a coccidiostat that belongs to the thiamine (vitamin B1) analogue group.
It acts as a competitive antagonist of the thiamine transport mechanism.
It interferes with the metabolism of carbohydrates that are necessary for the survival or multiplication of coccidia.
Indications
It is used for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in livestock and poultry caused by Eimeria spp. that are susceptible to amprolium.
Dosage and Administration
For the treatment of coccidiosis in poultry:
In Feed: Use 125 mg/kg of complete feed for 5-7 days.
In Water: Use 1 gram per 8 liters of drinking water (120-240 mg/L).
The maximum dose ranges from 25-73 mg/kg bw/day for 5-7 days.
The product should be diluted based on daily water consumption over 24 hours or as directed by a veterinarian.
Withdrawal
Poultry: 3 days.
Storage
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
Tightly close the packing after use.
