Description
Levamisole hydrochloride is a synthetic broad-spectrum imidiazothiazole anthelmintic used for the treatment and prevention of lungworms and gastrointestinal worms in poultry, sheep, and cattle.
Levamisole acts as a ganglion stimulant of nematode nerves, which leads to neuro-muscular paralysis, causing the worms to be expelled in the feces.
The drug is also well known for its immunomodulatory effects.
Indications
Used for the prophylaxis and treatment of lung worm and gastrointestinal worm infection in calves, cattle, poultry, and sheep/goat, such as:
Poultry: Capillaria spp. and Ascaridia.
Cattle, Sheep/Goat: Common adult lungworms and GIT worms, and many larval stages, including Ostertagia, Nematodirus, Bunostomum, Dictyocaulus, Cooperia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Protostrongylus, and Chabertia spp.
Dogs: Toxocara canis infection.
Dosage and Administration
Administer ET-LEVA 50 via drinking water.
Poultry: 1g ET-LEVA 50 for 15-25 kg body weight (20-40 mg/kg body weight) as described by the veterinarian.
Cattle, Sheep/Goat: 1gm ET-LEVA 50 for 40-50 kg body weight (7-5-12mg/kg body weight) as described by the veterinarian.
PRECAUTIONS
Always store at room temperature, and avoid extreme temperatures.
Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
Keep out of the reach of animals and children.
After each use, close the container securely.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
