Colistin Sulphate………………………50 MIU (As per Innovator’s Specification)
Description:
Florfenicol: A fluorinated derivative of thiamphenicol is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotic. In sensitive bacteria florfenicol inhibit protein synthesis by binding to 50S subunit of ribosomes. Florfenicol does not carry the risk of inducing human aplastic anaemia associated with the use of chloramphenicol. In birds florfenicol also have activity against some chloramphenicol-resistant bacterial strains.
Colistin Sulphate: A polymixin antibiotic that is highly effective against gram negative bacteria. After oral administration, it is poorly absorbed offering specific advantages in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections like colibacillosis and salmonellosis.
Indications:
Erofen is indicated for prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases caused by florfenicol sensitive bacteria such as fowl typhoid, Pullorum disease, fowl cholera, colibacillosis.
Dosage and Administration:
1 ml Erofen solution per 2-4 liters of drinking water for 5-7 days (30 mg/kg b.w.) OR as recommended by poultry Veterinarian.
Withdrawal time:
Poultry Meat: 7 days
Precautions:
Always store at room temperature, (avoid extreme temperatures).
Protect from direct sunlight and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
After each use close container securely.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
