Description
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the Tetracyclines group.
In susceptible microorganisms, Tetracyclines inhibit bacterial protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, which blocks the binding of aminoacyl tRNA to the acceptor site on the mRNA.
It is active against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, and some protozoa.
Indications
Eter Oxytetracycline-95 soluble powder is used to treat a wide range of conditions affecting livestock production, such as gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections.
It treats infections caused by oxytetracycline-sensitive bacteria, including Infectious coryza (A. paragallinarum), fowl cholera (Pasteurellosis), chronic respiratory disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma, Colibacillosis (E. coli), Salmonellosis, Rickettsia, Chlamydia, and protozoa (Hexamitiasis).
Dosage and Administration
It is for oral administration via drinking water and feed.
Poultry:
For chronic respiratory disease or fowl cholera, use 1 kg of Eter Oxytetracycline-95 per 5000 liters of drinking water for 3-7 days.
Alternatively, use 400-800 mg per gallon of water (approximately 22 to 60 mg/kg body weight).
In feed, use 400-600 gm of Eter Oxytetracycline-95 per 1000 kg of feed for 5-7 days.
Calves, Sheep, goat: Use 20-40 mg/kg body weight for 3-5 days or as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Incompatibility/contraindications
Do not use with antibiotics such as penicillin and cephalosporin.
Do not administer to animals with impaired kidney and liver function.
High concentrations of iron, copper, and calcium in water may result in coagulation complexes.
Withdrawal period
Poultry meat and eggs: 5-7 days.

After each use, close the container securely.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
