Description

• Chlortetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline class.

• In poultry, it is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and rapidly achieves therapeutic concentrations, reaching peak plasma levels within 2 to 4 hours.

• It exhibits bacteriostatic activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Mycoplasma species.

• It prevents the attachment of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis.

• The drug is widely distributed throughout the body and penetrates effectively into respiratory tissues.

• Chlortetracycline undergoes minimal or no metabolism and is eliminated primarily via renal excretion.

Indications

• Eter Cyclo Mix Plus is indicated for the treatment of respiratory and GIT infections in poultry caused by micro-organisms sensitive to chlortetracycline, such as Mycoplasmosis, CRD, CCRD, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, and Pasteurellosis.

Dosage and Administration

• For oral administration through feed or drinking water.

• Poultry: Mix 1 Kg Eter Cyclo Mix plus in 1000-2000 liters of clean drinking water (60 mg/kg b.w. therapeutic dose) OR as prescribed by a poultry veterinarian.

Withdrawal time

• Poultry Meat: 4 days
