DESCRIPTION
Florfenicol, a derivative of thiamphenicol, works similarly to chloramphenicol by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis but has a stronger antibacterial effect.
It is effective against a broad range of bacteria, including gram-negative bacilli, gram-positive cocci, and atypical organisms like Mycoplasma.
After administration, florfenicol is well absorbed with high bioavailability, and its lipophilic properties enables it for widespread distribution throughout the body, making it effective for treating a variety of infections in different tissues.
It undergoes limited metabolism in the liver and is primarily excreted through the kidneys, with a significant portion being eliminated unchanged in the urine.
INDICATIONS
In poultry Teraflow-23 is indicated for prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to florfenicol such as Fowl typhoid, Pullorum disease, Fowl cholera CRD and Colibacillosis.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Dissolve 1 ml Teraflow-23 solution in 2 liter of clean drinking water (30 mg/kg b.w.) and administer for 3-5 days or as recommended by poultry veterinarian.
WITHDRAWAL TIME
Poultry Meat: 5 days, Eggs: 5 Days
