ALFENICOL-23 liquid

Composition: Each 100 ml contains:

Florfenicol……………………………..23 gm (As Per Innovator’s Specification)

Description: Florfenicol is a thiamphenicol derivative whose hydroxyl group has been replaced by a fluorine atom. Florfenicol is a synthetic broad spectrum, bacteriostatic antibiotic. It inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells (inhibits the activity of the enzyme peptidyl transferase). Florfenicol is particularly effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms causing diseases in poultry such as Enterobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella multocida, Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., and Streptococcus spp.

Indications: In poultry Alfenicol 23 oral liquid is indicated for prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to florfenicol such as Fowl typhoid, Pullorum disease, Fowl cholera, CRD and Colibacillosis.

Dosage and Administration: Dissolve 1 ml Alfenicol 23 oral liquid in 2 liter of clean drinking water (30 mg/kg b.w.) and administer for 3-5 days OR as recommended by poultry veterinarian.

Withdrawal time: Poultry meat = 7 days

Precautions: Store at room temperature (avoid extreme temperature). Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. After each use close bottle securely. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
