DESCRIPTION:
Albendazole is a broad-Spectrum anthelmintic which belongs to the group Benzimidazole and is used for prophylaxis and treatment of tapeworms, stomach worms (including 4th stage larvae) liver flukes, intestinal worms, and lungworms in cattle and sheep.
Albendazole bind to $\beta$-tubulin, inhibit formation of microtubules and also prevent the uptake of glucose, consequently leading to paralysis and death of the helminth.
Triclabendazole is a unique bezimidazole anthelmintic used in food producing animals for the treatment of Fascioliasis since 1983.
Triclabendazole and its active metabolites are absorbed by the outer body covering of the immature and mature worms, causing a reduction in the resting membrane potential, inhibition of tubulin function as well as protein and enzyme synthesis necessary for survival.
Besides it use in veterinary medicine triclabendazole has also been used for the treatment of parasitic infestation in humans.
Ivermectin is an avermectin having a potent, broad antiparasitic spectrum at low dose levels.
Ivermectin bind to receptors that increase membrane permeability to chloride ions.
This inhibits the electrical activity of nerve cells in mematodes and muscle cells in arthropods leading to paralysis and death of the parasites.
INDICATIONS:
Altravec is a broad spectrum anthelmintic agent used for prophylaxis and treatment of worm infestation in calves, cattle, sheep and goats like:
Gastrointestinal worms: Haemonchusspp, Trichostrongylusspp, Ostertagiaspp, Cooperiaspp, Bunostomumspp, Oesophagostomumspp, Trichurisspp, Strongyloidesspp, Capillaria spp.
Lung worms: Dictyocaulus viviparous and Dictyocaulusfilaria
Tapeworms: Moniezaspp.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
1 ml/10kg body weight or as directed by the veterinarian.
WITHDRAWAL TIME:
Meat: 48 days
